THING #11

I am amazed at all of the new technology. I am in the age group that never had a telephone or a television in my home until I was a late teenager. We also did not even have REA until I was about 12. We had a windcharger and a row of batteries in the cellar of our house for our electricity. So unlike all of these kids who are growing up with all of these new things--cell phones, ipods, DVDs, digital cameras, internet, computers, etc. etc. But I think all of these new things are wonderful. I have an answering machine, a cell phone and several e-mail accounts and two young granddaughters who are quick to fill me in on anything they think I should know. The oldest, who is nine, changed the ringtone on my phone when I wasn't looking. They seem to know exactly which buttons to push. My daughter's new stove just needs someone to push the right buttons to turn the stove or the oven on or even clean the oven--so easy. I have also learned a lot from Nebraska 2.0 learns. I did not realize there is so much out there. Blogging, Flickr, RSS and Feeds, Instant Messaging. I don't think I will get it all learned in my lifetime, but it sure has been fun to learn as much as I can.

You and Anne are doing great. You seem to be having a lot of fun working through the program together. You guys are a super example of the value of the "buddy system" when applied to a learning activity like this one!
